Foundation is laid
Viktor Ladenburger sen. laid the foundation for Holzwerke Ladenburger. The original 2-man operation was located in the centre of Aufhausen.
-
Operation is relocated to the edge of town
Due to the lack of space in the town centre, it was decided to relocate the sawmill to Walkmühle on the outskirts of Aufhausen. In addition, a planing mill was put into operation.
-
Acquisition of Hürnheim plant
The growing demand in the construction sector was taken into account by purchasing a sawmill in Hürnheim near Nördlingen.
-
Modernisation
At the Aufhausen site – in line with technical progress – a fully automatic chipper-canter unit was added to the frame saw already in place.
-
After reunification
Ladenburger took the opportunity after reunification to open up new markets in Eastern Germany and acquired an existing wood-processing business with suitable expansion options in Geithain (Saxony between Chemnitz and Leipzig). This was then developed into one of the most efficient industrial planing mills with downstream final processing in Germany.
-
Modernisation
The Hürnheim site was extended by adding a timber chipper-canter unit.
-
Bopfingen site is established
The glulam production was able to be started in Bopfingen. With the newly added laminated timber production in a 12,000 m2 facility, Holzwerke Ladenburger is now also able to meet the steadily increasing demand for glulam and construction timber.
-
Takeover
A wood processing business in Kerkingen was taken over. Finger-jointing machines, joinery machines and drying chambers were operated here.
-
Large sawmill put into operation
The new industrial sawmill with a capacity of 1,000,000 solid cubic metres per year was put into operation in Kerkingen. At the same time the sawmill was set up in Aufhausen.
-
Expansion of drying chambers
The drying capacity was expanded at the Bopfingen and Kerkingen site in order to take into account the growing demand for dried sawn wood.
-
New joinery centre
The joinery centre was able to be put into operation in a new production hall flooded with light at the Bopfingen site.
-
Modernisation of the glulam production
The glued laminated timber production was expanded and modernised at the Bopfingen site.
-
New LSH laminated wood production
The LSH (Ladenburger laminated wood) production facility was able to be put into operation in a newly erected 16,000 m² hall at the Bopfingen site.
-
Continuous dryer and sorting plant
A progressive kiln was installed and a new scanner sorting plant was put into operation in Kerkingen.
-
New pellet production
Ladenburger started with the production of pellets. The pellet plant was installed at the Bopfingen production site.
